Delicious banana bars topped with creamy caramel frosting!

- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt flakes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and mashed bananas until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in sour cream for extra moisture.
- Spread batter in prepared dish and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before frosting.
- For the frosting, beat softened butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar gradually.
- Stir in caramel sauce and beat until smooth and fluffy. Add milk if needed for consistency.
- Spread frosting on cooled bars and sprinkle with sea salt flakes.
Notes
- These bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- For a twist, add chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the batter.
