- 500g ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups canned tomatoes, crushed or diced
- 1 cup kidney beans (optional)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Optional add-ins: Bell peppers, sausage, a pinch of sugar or honey to balance acidity
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until soft (about 3–4 minutes).
- Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute (don’t burn it).
- Add ground beef and cook until browned (break it apart while cooking).
- Mix in tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes (this boosts flavor).
- Pour in tomatoes and beef broth, then stir well.
- Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add beans if using (skip for beef chili recipe without beans).
- Let it simmer on low heat for 25–30 minutes (stir occasionally).
- Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.

- This chili can be made in advance and reheated for better flavor.
