Description

A hearty and flavorful chili recipe featuring ground beef, tomatoes, and spices.


Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups canned tomatoes, crushed or diced
  • 1 cup kidney beans (optional)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Optional add-ins: Bell peppers, sausage, a pinch of sugar or honey to balance acidity

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and cook until soft (about 3–4 minutes).
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute (don’t burn it).
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned (break it apart while cooking).
  5. Mix in tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes (this boosts flavor).
  6. Pour in tomatoes and beef broth, then stir well.
  7. Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  8. Add beans if using (skip for beef chili recipe without beans).
  9. Let it simmer on low heat for 25–30 minutes (stir occasionally).
  10. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.
