Butter Puffcorn

Description

A deliciously sweet and buttery snack made with Puffcorn.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 ounces butter-flavored Puffcorn

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large pot over medium-high heat, melt the salted butter. Stir in the light brown sugar and light corn syrup. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes.
  3. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda (it will bubble up a little).
  4. Add the contents of the butter-flavored Puffcorn bag and very gently mix until it is thoroughly coated.
  5. Transfer the Puffcorn to the prepared sheet pan.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  7. Let the Puffcorn cool completely, stirring the mixture occasionally to prevent it from sticking together.

Notes

  • This snack can be stored in an airtight container for several days.
  • For a twist, consider adding a sprinkle of sea salt before baking.
