A delicious and quick honey garlic chicken recipe that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner.

- 1 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, toss the chicken pieces with 2 tablespoons cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken in a single layer (work in batches if needed) and cook for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch-water mixture. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
- Serve hot over steamed rice or with your favorite vegetables.
- Great with broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas on the side.
Notes
- This dish is best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey according to your taste.
