- 1 can (21 oz) blueberry pie filling
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon zest
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. I like to use a glass dish so I can see those beautiful layers forming as it bakes.
- Spread the blueberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish. Make sure it reaches every corner. This becomes the juicy base that bubbles up into the cake.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, milk, and lemon zest until smooth. The scent of fresh lemon zest here is incredible—bright and uplifting. Drop spoonfuls of this mixture over the blueberry layer and gently spread it out.
- Sprinkle the dry lemon cake mix evenly over the top. Do not stir. This is the signature “dump cake” method that gives it its layered texture.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, covering as much surface area as possible. This helps create that golden, slightly crisp topping.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling. The aroma of lemon and blueberry filling the kitchen is your cue that something wonderful is happening.
- Let it cool for at least 20 minutes before serving. The layers will settle slightly, making it easier to scoop.
