Description

A delicious nacho recipe featuring seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and fresh toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb. ground beef (85% lean)
  • ½ onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 tbsp taco seasoning (1 packet, fajita seasoning also works)
  • 12 oz. tortilla chips (1 bag)
  • 16 oz. refried beans (1 can, pint or black both work)
  • 3 cups freshly shredded cheddar cheese (or pepper jack if you want more spice)
  • ⅓ cup sliced jalapeño peppers
  • ½ cup guacamole (or add diced or sliced avocado)
  • ½ cup pico de gallo
  • 3 green onions (chopped)
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • cilantro (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Add the beef, onion, and taco seasoning to a skillet set over medium heat.
  2. Brown the ground beef.
  3. Drain the grease from the skillet.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  5. Spread half of the tortilla chips out on a large baking sheet.
  6. Spoon half of the ground beef over the chips.
  7. Stir the refried beans, and spoon half the can over the chips in dollops.
  8. Sprinkle half of the cheese over the top.
  9. Spread the remaining tortilla chips over top.
  10. Top with the remaining ground beef, beans, and cheese.
  11. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Top with jalapeños, guacamole, pico de gallo, and green onions.
  13. Serve with sour cream and cilantro.
