Chocolate Tahini Bars

Description

Delicious and rich chocolate tahini bars that are easy to make and perfect for a sweet treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup creamy tahini
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cacao powder
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup non-dairy chocolate chips
  • flakey sea salt (to sprinkle on top)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F and prepare an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, add in the tahini and eggs. Mix with a whisk until the mixture has thickened.
  3. Switch to a spatula and add in the coconut sugar, vanilla extract, cacao powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips last, and add batter to a pan that is lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing into.
  7. Sprinkle with flakey sea salt, cut into bars and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a more intense chocolate flavor, consider adding extra cacao powder.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
